Badki Baiga was born and raised in a small tribal village called Bagdara, nestled deep in the forests of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Her village had limited access to education and healthcare, and there were no employment opportunities for the women in the community. Badki Baiga was married at a young age and had to leave her education incomplete.

One day, Badki Baiga came to know about Bagdara Farms and their sustainable farming practices. She was intrigued by the idea of growing turmeric and learning about organic farming. She enrolled in Bagdara Farms’ training program for women, which provided her with the knowledge and skills she needed to grow turmeric on her own land.

With her hard work and dedication, Badki Baiga soon became a successful turmeric farmer. She was able to generate a steady income for her family and was no longer dependent on her husband’s income. She also became an inspiration for other women in her community who were looking for ways to become financially independent.

Badki Baiga’s success story encouraged more women in her village to take up turmeric farming. Bagdara Farms continued to provide training and support to these women, helping them to grow turmeric sustainably and earn a living. As more women became empowered, the village started to transform.

With the increase in income, the villagers were able to provide better education and healthcare facilities for their families. They also became more conscious of their environment and started taking steps towards preserving the natural resources around them. The once-impoverished village of Bagdara now thrived with a sustainable livelihood and a sense of community pride.

Badki Baiga’s story is just one of many success stories in Bagdara Farms’ journey towards empowering tribal women in the forests of Bandhavgarh. Through sustainable farming practices and a commitment to women’s empowerment, Bagdara Farms (A Unit of HI Wellness Pvt Ltd)has transformed the lives of many women and their families, providing a glimmer of hope and a path towards a better future.
